Mark San Fratello is Chief Executive Officer at Response Team 1 and is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the company.
Mr. San Fratello brings over thirty years of experience with leading large cap consumer firms, middle market business services firms in addition to start-up ventures. Before joining Response Team 1, Mr. San Fratello was President & Chief Executive Officer for Envirotest Systems for over six years. He was Chief Operating Officer for leading construction and event services provider United Site Services and was Senior Vice President and General Manager at Safety-Kleen Systems, Inc.
Mark holds a BA from the University of Rochester (NY) and a Masters of Business Administration from Xavier University (OH).
Brent Ghelfi is the Senior Vice President and Regional Manager for the West region. He is responsible for all aspects of Sales and Operations, including P&L, for Renovation services nationally.
Brent is the former owner of SOS Restoration, LLLP, and Creekside Builders, LLC, both general contracting firms specializing in insurance restoration. He owned those companies beginning in 2003 and 2006 respectively. Both companies were acquired by RT1 in 2012.
Prior to working in the restoration industry, Brent was the President and CEO of manufactured homebuilder, Cavco Industries, Inc. He previously served as Vice President and General Counsel of Cavco.
Before joining Cavco, Brent was a partner with the Phoenix-headquartered law firm Meyer, Hendricks, Victor, Osborn & Maledon, P.C., where he practiced for seven years, specializing in commercial litigation. Brent’s law career also includes a year as a law clerk for Judge Thomas Tang of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Brent is also the author of four novels which have received numerous awards. His novels have been translated into eight languages and optioned for film.
Brent earned his law degree from the University of Arizona, where he served as Executive Editor of the law review, and his bachelor’s degree in business management from Arizona State University.
Shannon Kesinger is the Senior Vice President and Regional Manager for the Southeast region. He is responsible for all aspects of Sales and Operations, including P&L, for restoration services in the East.
Shannon began his career in the restoration industry as a general laborer and by the age of 18 was framing roofs, houses and commercial buildings.
In pursuit of his dream of flying, Shannon enlisted in the U.S. Army and was accepted into the flight training program in Fort Rucker, AL. Shortly after graduation from flight school, his unit was deployed to Germany and onto the first round of Desert Storm in late 1990. As the Platoon leader of C Company of the 2/227th Attack Helicopter Regiment, he served his country honorably and returned to the States as a decorated combat veteran.
On discharge, Shannon returned to the restoration industry where he managed jobs, estimated losses and established relationships that helped grow revenues from $1,000,000 to over $6,000,000 in insurance related business for his employers. Shannon then spent five years working as a Large Loss General Adjuster in the Washington DC areas and is still licensed in 5 states, including North and South Carolina.
Shannon also served for four years as a Missionary Pilot with New Tribes Missions in Papua New Guinea.
Shannon’s extensive experiences in all aspects of the Insurance Industry, together with his demonstrated leadership in both the military and the restoration industry, make him distinctly able to contribute to the success of Response Team 1.
Mitch Martin is the Senior Vice President and Regional Manager for the North and West regions of the country. He is responsible for all aspects of Sales and Operations, including P&L, for Restoration services in the West.
Mitch brings 37 years of experience in the Restoration, Reconstruction and Cleaning businesses with a focus on the Multifamily customer segment. As a recognized leader and expert in this industry Mitch has been an active member of the National Apartment Association for over 20 years, served on the Board of Multifamily Solutions, and has taught Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician courses for the AAMD. Mitch carries a General Contractor license in multiple states and holds several industry certifications.
Mitch is the former CEO of Venturi Restoration which operated 17 offices in 15 States across the United States.
Ross Poole is the Senior Vice President of Strategic Accounts and Operations for Response Team 1. He is responsible for driving operational consistency across the organization, onboarding new offices, and maintaining strategic customer relationships.
Ross has 23 years of experience in the property restoration and reconstruction industry. Prior to joining Response Team 1, Ross was a managing partner/owner for Poole’s Reconstruction and Restoration Services, Inc. located in Charlotte, NC. During this time, Ross’s dedication to growth, expansion and award winning customer service led Poole’s to become one of the most well respected companies in the industry. Poole’s was acquired by Response Team 1 in March of 2014.
Working in the industry since the age of 15, Ross has a wealth of expertise and passion for property restoration. Over the years, Ross made it his mission to learn everything he could about insurance restoration and large loss disaster recovery and reconstruction. Ross carries General Contractor’s licenses in multiple states, as well as numerous industry certifications. Ross has received the prestigious Chrysalis award and been named Contractor Connection’s Contractor of the Year twice. Notable projects include the Florida Hurricanes of 2004, where he oversaw the mitigation of Intersill, a 6 story semi-conductor plant, Bojangle’s; and most recently, the rebuild of Carolina Panther’s head coach and NFC champion, Ron Rivera’s fire damaged home.
Bill Budig is Chief Information Officer for Response Team 1. He is responsible for managing every aspect of information technology within the company with an initial focus to develop and implement a cohesive IT infrastructure across all Response Team 1 companies.
Bill has more than 20 years of experience in formulating and executing IT strategy for growing multi-location, multi-national businesses.
Bill has a BS in Business Administration from St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin. He is active with a number of community organizations including Ronald McDonald House of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, where he is Chairman of the Board.
Julie Harms, General Counsel
As General Counsel, Julie provides strategic legal guidance and support for Response Team 1 and its business units.
Prior to joining Response Team 1, Harms provided counsel to several small businesses on general corporate transactions and litigation matters. She also spent 12 years as an attorney for Waste Management, Inc.’s $1 billion national sales department, where she negotiated and managed business transactions and handled employment law, bankruptcy, antitrust, risk management, legal training and litigation counsel. Prior to that position, Harms was a Partner at Hinshaw & Culbertson, Chicago, where her practice focused on environmental law, insurance coverage and general commercial litigation.
Julie earned her juris doctor, cum laude, from Tulane University Law School in New Orleans, and has earned a bachelor’s degree in history and international studies from Emory University in Atlanta. She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the Association of Corporate Counsel.
Jeff Clement is Vice President of Human Resources for Response Team 1. Jeff oversees the human resources functions for all employees and locations, and directs the company’s leadership development, employee benefits, and employee relations programs.
Most recently, Clement was Vice President of Human Resources for Mizkan Americas, a nationwide food manufacturing company with 15 U.S. manufacturing plants where he played a key role in integrating six U.S.-based acquisitions.
Prior to that position, Jeff served as Human Resources Manager for Milgard Manufacturing, a large West Coast window manufacturer, where he successfully implemented performance management system, succession planning, and turnover reduction initiatives.
Jeff earned a BS in Business Management from the University of Phoenix’s Sacramento Calif. campus, and completed his senior professional in human resources certification in 2006.
